WHY??

I've noticed something. Every time we have things to do, Matthew has a complete melt-down!! We are blessing him tomorrow morning, so of course we have to clean the house and get things ready for people to come over so we can pretend we are a normal family who keeps their house free from slime, filth, and putrescence- which we don't. So we put him down for bed not once, not twice but seven times before he actually would fall asleep and stay that way without screaming like a kidnapper was coming through the window! Aughhhh!!! Okay, I'm fine now. I just needed to vent. All we have to do is run a vacuum and wipe down the kitchen and we'll be good to go, so it's not too bad. Hopefully we can fake that we are a clean house family for a day. Then we can go back to being slobs. Ahhh, relief.

It is nice that warm weather is starting to make an appearance. Emma has been out in her sandbox digging and flinging sand, and having a grand old time. I have been weeding the garden, trimming bushes, trying to get things under control so that our landlord doesn't kick us out. We rent from my uncle, who stated in the lease "must keep the yard in better condition than I did". We are really trying!! It was hard last summer because I was pregnant, and this year it seems like spring is always just around the corner, but we'll get there. We are going to make the yard beautiful this time, honest!

We just had a funny experience. We bought a tulle drapery thing to go over Emma's bed. She was thrilled with it, so we went to put it up, and Mike stood up on her toddler bed and one of the boards underneath goes SNAP! and breaks right in half. Luckily I have been staining her new bed out in the garage and it was pretty close to being done, so we just took down her toddler bed and put in the new one. Then we got her drapery thing up and she couldn't stop shrieking from excitement. When we asked her if she wanted to go to bed, she jumped up and down and made her "Eeee!! Eeee!!" noises and ran and belly-flopped on the bed. When I checked on her a few minutes ago she was sound asleep in her new bed. She is just so darn cute! Even if I am biased.

Yet another post!

We have finally recieved our ticket to join the in crowd of the 21st century! Yes, we have an Ipod. We feel really cool about it. It's not a new one, in fact our brother in law determined that it was time to dump his 3rd generation Ipod. Needless to say, were hip and totally with it. Fine, so we got it for free. Big deal, we're still cool.

Emma has been talking up a storm. She will put jibberish together into incomprehensible sentences and expect us to understand them. We have an alphabet magnet set on our fridge and she will pull them off one by one and tell us the letters. You can't ask her what they are, she has to tell you. If you say, "Emma, what is this?" and show her the letter "B" she will look at you like your an idiot and walk off. We finally found a play slide for her on the KSL classifieds. Emma has been all 0ver it. She has discovered that her letters, her fruit snacks, my bills, and other things slide nicely down the slide.

Matthew has been getting more giggly every day. He smiles a lot more and he is more content with things around him. Well.....as long as lunch and dinner are on time. He can be a complete crank if he doesn't get his food. He has started swinging at things that are above his head. He has a little play mat with some toys that dangle. He enjoys swatting at them. He smiles at Erin every time he sees her. He is cute.

Erin has almost finished staining Emma's new bed. Erin's parents gave us their old bunk beds and we are refinishing them. It has been a lot of fun for her! She also just got that the name of the blog refers to our family. She feels like a complete ditz. We think that Erin may have Celiac's disease. She has had stomach attacks for a while. The tests have yet to come back, but we have been monitoring her situation. Every time she eats something with wheat in it, she hurts. So, we will have more tests run to see if we are right. Until then.........no more twinkies for her. All the more for me!

I have started school this semester. I also got a great walking tour of downtown Salt Lake. Yep, I can't read a darn map. I thought it said that I was to get off of Trax at the Gallivan center. I called up Erin and told her that I couldn't find BYU anywhere. She told me it was the Triad center 20 minutes away. I could have waited for the next train, but again I left my brain at home. So I started walking. Needless to say, I was late for my class. I did get a free candy bar from a U of U survey taker on the way home though.

My time is up, and I must say good night. Here are some of our latest pictures of the only warm day Salt Lake has had this spring. Also, some pictures of Emma with her cousin Kayla. Enjoy
